Hampta Pass is one of Himachal Pradesh's most dramatic high-altitude treks, offering a breathtaking contrast in just 5 days. You start in the lush, green Kullu Valley and within a single day's walk, cross the 4,270m Hampta Pass to emerge into the stark, arid Lahaul desert — like walking from one world into another.
The bonus is Chandrataal (Moon Lake) — a crescent-shaped high-altitude lake at 4,300m that mirrors the sky in an impossibly vivid shade of turquoise. This trek is perfect for those who want a challenging yet accessible Himalayan experience without needing prior trekking experience.

The moment we crossed the pass and saw the Lahaul desert stretching out below — completely different from the green valley behind us — my jaw dropped. Chandrataal at sunrise was even better. MilesNPeople's team was phenomenal throughout.
First time trekkers and we were nervous! But the team made everything so easy. The snow bridges on Day 3 were terrifying and thrilling at once. The Milky Way above our camp at 3,900m was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Book this. Now.
